Sunday, August 30, 2009

It was raining on a Sunday morning. I went to Serangoon Broadway Studio to have a family shoot with my family and also to return my gown.

Not an eventful day... Guess I gotta start preparing myself for my new job... how time flies.. starting in a weeks' time. My dearest friend, qing (I suppose...) is on her way back from Hungary now! So happy.. it's like finally the 3 months is over! But she gonna leave again like 1.5months later? But I know she misses her dogs there although she misses her home too... Sad... Everyone is like so busy... although we plan to meet up soon when she is back but I'm afraid this is a tough one because you see... I am starting my work pretty soon and I will get busier as days go by and she needs to prepare for her sis's wedding, her blog stuffs or her other own stuffs as well...

I guess as we all grow older, we have lesser time for ourselves or our family and friends. The harder we work, not necessarily we will be paid better at times but alot of time is used up.

So this is the picture that I took with the Chancellor... this is a complimentary photograph given by the studio.

And when i reached home, got abit bored so decided to play with my soft toys..
They are still so CUTE! Makes me smile even though they have been jailed in my cupboard for years -_-

TA-DAH! Cute anot? HAHA!

It was Tracy's birthday on Saturday. We went to Swiss Culture @ Suntec. We were there one year ago. It's famous for its chocolate and cheese fondue. The pasta was not bad too.

After that, we went to buy gifts for one another since our birthday is so near to each other. (this is our usual practice, haha). We feel that it's more practical this way, to receive something that we wanted. (although surprises are good and it's the thought that counts) but still we prefer this way, choose on the spot. haha.

So coincidence that the gifts that we wanted this year is of the same range, skincare products.
Tracy wanted something from FACESHOP and I wanted something from Estee Lauder.
Apparently, her gift for me is more expensive. =( Sorry... haha, I didn't choose this on purpose, just that besides this, I don't have anything that I want in mind yet. Really appreciate this gift, my dearest friend! ♥♥♥

After that, we took some photos before we parted to meet our own friends. =)

Look at the super thick chocolate... YUMMY!
Tracy said the chocolate made her too full.. however for me, I can eat it on its own! LOL erm coz' I'm greedy!

Fruits Fondue! Wooh~

Our pasta... made up of white wine, swiss cheese and mushroom
Very cheesy and very nice!

Posing for a shot for our small birthday celebration among ourselves =)

Indulging myself with marshmallow coated with thick chocolate!!!

And then, we took some pictures while walking back to Bugis...

Finally, we reached Bugis!
Our last picture before we parted.

THEN, something very "amazing" happened to me while I was on my way to meet my primary school friends.
I am machiam like a tourist visiting Singapore for the first time. Imagine got lost in town!
I was supposed to meet them at Selegie Centre. I roughly know where's the place because I know bus 65 always passes by but just that I couldn't picture it on my mind at that point in time on how to reach there from Bugis and maps (nokia maps in my hp) doesn't really do me a favour. I am very lousy at directions or navigation. So Tracy accompanied me walked halfway through as she gotta rush to meet her friend.
And guess what happened? I got lost along my way! Grrrrr.... (luckily, the weather was fine at that time) I walked until somewhere which is very near to Little India!!! Then I called Kaleen, her bf somehow navigated me towards the right direction and so... I walked back to Wilkie Edge (which I had passed by earlier on) and thus, I have wasted so much time and energy (although the fondue that I had earlier on was sinful but I wouldn't want to burn it off this way...)
Finally, reached Central Cafe... there was no one except the bunch of us but the desert I had was VERY NICE! My favourite-- DURIAN!! I know qing hates that... hahahaa...

So this is the durian desert I am talking about.. Durian+ Aleo Vera+ Grass jelly= Heaven!

Do the wings look nice? Before I took this picture, 3 of it were being snatched by all the greedy pigs.. yes, we are all pigssss...

Next, we went to this KTV called Dynasty. It is super duper cheap. We had the biggest room as there were 10 of us. I paid $8.80 for my share only (inclusive of the drink which is $5) CHEAP right. This KTV is different from K Box or Partyworld. We can buy our own food inside and the drink is $5 each, which means if you don't drink (or if you buy from outside), you only need to pay $3.50. Cool right? Furthermore, the sound system, the mic and the service is comparable (or even better) to KBox or Partyworld. So why not??? Defintely a must-go!
It's so worthwhile... imagine if I go to Partyworld, I paid for like $20? Somemore, we went on a weekend.. from 7.30pm to 11.30pm.

So this is our room! COOL ???
Somemore got TV for the guys to watch soccer!

This is our snacks that we bought from Watson's! HAHAHAHAH. We love chips!!!

I know this doesn't look appetizing... It's the LAYS sour cream chips.
There were 10 of us, so we gonna distribute evenly. WHAHAHHAHA...

Kaleen and me!!!

And then finally, it's all of us!!!
So fun to get together with all of them!

I AM SO HAPPY! screams*** I can finally blog from home! I don't know why! Maybe heaven pitys me because I always use my office hours to blog OR he wants me to work hard because it's my last week of work...?? -_- Either way, it's good news for me!
It just so happens now that I am trying my luck, so I decided to login to blogspot... and tadah! Here I am!

Well, just a little update before I go to bed before 3am now. Went KPO on Friday after work, a chill out place opposite the new Orchard Central with my ex colleague before I proceed to meet my uni friends at another chill out place at Timbre, situated inside old school. It's quite ulu, it's very inaccessible unless you drive in.

Fortunately, my ex colleague drove me in...

First, was some chicken wings that we had at KPO, then to Timbre.....

Look at ALL of them! Do you feel hungry right now? =p

YAY! HAHA! What you see above will be the main topic of this post today!

Blogging in office seems so happy~~ because the uploading is very fast and efficient but my eyes is constantly scanning around now. -_- (not very relaxing...)

Anyway..............

Alright, back to some more "formal" stuffs I should say.

27th August 2009 marks a major milestone in my life. Why it is so important and significant to me is not just simply because it's my convocation and degree conferment day. It is special because it is the start of the next stage of my life- that is, I need to keep my goals and actions on par of one another. I am not only responsible for myself but also my family and my loved ones. Certain things need to be done well not only for myself, but also for the people concerned. Alot of factors involved. Just one mistake can leads to many more. Just like telling a lie can leads to many lies. You need to lie again to cover up your previous lie. You need to have good memory to be a liar. Haha.

Entering into the next stage of my life after this also means that I need to be more mature in handling certain issues, be it for work or personal. I need to be focus on what's more important for me in life. I need to take control of my emotions instead of letting my emotions take control over me.

Afterall, it is merely a paper certificate, it doesn't mean anything. It's during the course of the study that intellectual thinking is involved, for instance, having to think out of the box for challenging problems which requires more thinking, thoughts and creative solutions.

Of course, I can choose to take a slower pace in life, stay in my current job which I can knock off on the dot, slack, suft net, msn chat etc but this will not allow me to go far in life. Yes, simple is happiness, BUT to a certain extent. In Singapore, can we just live life this way and just do what we want? We can't. It's not because we like to compare and compete. There's simple too many competition out there. We need to be constantly upgraded in order to be kept well in this society. This is the reason why I am giving up my current job for a more challenging and a much more demanding one... which also means longer hours of work and more sacrifices need to be make.

Training is provided which I hope it will benefit me not only in terms of work but also for my personal growth. I need to give myself a chance, to try doing different things so that I know where my strength lies and work towards and improve it.

Some of us may not know what is our interest, even up to a certain age. I just realized something (hopefully it's still not too late). That is, we never try, we'll never know. Always take initiative and try new things. Who knows there are more opportunities out there. Opportunity only knocks once and they won't come and look for us. Same goes to happiness, we need to take the first step forward to search for our own happiness.

Always find a job where your passion lies, what we are interested in doing and not just because it pays us well. Always do things which make us happy. Always be humble and learn from others.

Below are some memorable pictures (formal and informal) of me and my friends taken on our convocation day:

A shoot taken before going out...

Ta-dah~ I'm back to school! The finger above is my mum's -_-

She's still not very familiar with my camera.

That's me and my loving and supportive parents!

Her finger again... haha.. me looking so happy on my special day~
"Special day"--> machiam wedding like that.. lol

On the left is my good friend, Wilson. Thanks to him for being so helpful most of the time, took the initative to help us zap notes, solutions etc and on my right is Jiaming, a very nice guy too. I will definitely miss studying with all of U!

This is the most precious picture. Taken by mum while I was up there.

It's blur because this was taken from the screen as the stage was too far from where the guests were seated.

Yipee! After the formal ceremony, we were brought to the tea reception to gather with our family and friends. Saw alot of familiar faces and I realized that a number of celebrities are from SIM. Saw the child actor, Joshua from "I Not Stupid". He was there with his girlfriend who is also a graduand. He looks shuai!

This is me, Yusna, who is my classmate, Alan's gf. She is also a former student of Economics and Finance. TOP distinction student somemore! On the right is Lijun, my only closer female classmate (haha...). So happens that she's also my secondary schoolmate as well~~~

This is a formal shot taken by our classmate, Rezwan. I am really touched as he came all the way after work to celebrate this memorable day with us. He is one batch later than us and hence, he's in his final semester of study (Jiayou!!!). He is really a very helpful and sincere friend. I think his photography skills is quite pro too. =) Thanks Rez, will definitely miss LAST-MIN (hahaahhaha) studying and burning midnight oil together with you and the rest at King Albert Park MAC. =)))

And lastly, this! I love all of you all to bits! Congraulations to all my dearest friends!

We finally did it, TOGETHER!

All the best in our future endeavours!
